The Tacoma Tide’s season was capped off on July 19th with an emphatic win over the Yakima Reds by a score of 6-2. The Tide needed a win or tie vs. the Reds to knock them out of a playoff spot and ensure a bid themselves.
The Tide have been an offensive force this season. Tacoma finished the regular season with more goals scored than any other team in the nation – 46 goals.
The Tide have been dominant at home. When playing in Tacoma, the Tide have now won 17 straight matches. The last loss at Curtis HS Stadium, in Tacoma, came in 2006.
The Tide are not led by one single player, the squad has great depth and contributions from all over the field. 13 different players have scored this season, and 10 have scored more than once.
The Tide’s leading scorers are Rory Agu (11), and Spencer Schomaker (9). Schomaker also has 5 assists.
Goalkeeper, Jordan Jennings, has 6 shutouts.
