The Tacoma Tide opened their string of three consecutive road games north of the border with much success. The Tide scored the first three goals of the match before holding on to a 3-1 victory.
The Tide got on the scoreboard early with an eighth minute goal by Cam Vickers. He was assisted by Adam West. It didn’t take much longer for the Tide to find the back of the net again. In the 12th minute, Rory Agu scored on an assist from Chase Tangney, the first of his two goals on the day.
The Tide took a 2-0 lead into the locker room at half, and then Agu scored his second goal in the 55th minute. In the 77th minute Abbotsford was able to score on a corner kick. The ball was bouncing around the box until Ethan Claiborne-Collins poked it past the Tide keeper.
The victory gives the Tide (2-1-2) three more points and moves them into 4th place in the Northwest Division standings.
The Tide will return to Canada to take on the Vancouver Whitecaps on June 6th and Victoria Highlanders the following day.
