The Tide defeated the Cascade Surge by a score of 4-3 on their home turf to remain unbeaten since 2006 at Curtis HS Stadium. The Tide saw a 1-0 halftime lead slip into a 2-1 disadvantage before they came back to lead 3 goals to 2. All of this coming with a short handed Surge team after their center back, Tom Milroy was red carded for his tackle on Nick Besagno in the first half. Milroy was the last man, so not only did the foul lead to a Rory Agu PK goal, it also sent him to the locker room.
The excitement would have been enough to please most soccer fans, but the Tide crowd was just beginning their roller coaster ride. The Surge would score again to tie things at 3-3. Then, in the 90th minute, just as it looked like the Tide had blown their chance for their first win in 2009, Greg Howes chipped a ball over the defense and Besagno ran onto it to touch it into the abandoned net. The Tide won 4-3.
