Rory Agu will return to the Tide this season.
The Premier Development Leauge and the Tacoma Tide FC have a number of goals and objectives. For the Tide, the #1 focus is developing young players to help them achieve their dreams of taking a higher step in the soccer world. Rory Agu embodies this process. Rory did not go straight into college like some of the other Tide players, past and present. Instead, it was through excellent showings for the Tacoma Tide, that he was discovered to take that college jump.
Agu tops the All-Time scoring chart for the Tide, which began in 2006. The pacey forward was a part of that inaugural squad, and has worn yellow the last two years as well. With the Tide making a big splash in Fresno, CA the last two seasons, Agu’s name, face, and performance was right along with it. Utilizing the stage that the Tacoma Tide offers, Agu was recruited to play for Fresno City Community College. While there for this season, Rory has begun to catch Division 1 coaches’ eyes as well. With appreciation and loyalty for the stage that the Tide were able to offer Agu, he has decided to return to don a yellow jersey for another season in 2009.
Rory spoke about his decision to play for the Tide rather than his new local team, the Fresno Fuego. Agu also talks in this recent interview with David Falk, from the Seattle Soccer Examiner, about his loyalty to the Tide. CLICK HERE FOR THE ARTICLE
