The Tacoma Tide are heading into the home stretch! The Tide need to finish in the top two positions of the Northwest Division to qualify for the Playoffs. Right now, the Tide are in a first place tie with the Vancouver Whitecaps. Each team has 28 points, however, the Tide have 2 games remaining, while the Whitecaps have 4 remaining.
With the goal being the top 2 spots in the Division, you look down to the 3rd spot and see the Yakima Reds. The Reds have 3 less points (3 points for win / 1 pts for tie / 0 pts for loss) than
Tacoma .
Yakima does have one game in hand to pull even with the Tide.
STANDINGS
So it looks like the all-important match will come on the final day of the season. The Tide will host the Yakima Reds on July 19th. If the Tide win their match this Saturday (7/12) @ Cascade Suge, then the last game of the season will be a winner take all affair. Yakima has the head-to-head advantage since they beat the Tide earlier this season in
Yakima . If the Tide return the favor on July 19th, their goal differential will be the necessary tie-breaker.
It’s a lot to ponder so if it’s all confusing, this is what you need to know:
>>> IF THE TIDE WIN THEIR FINAL TWO MATCHES, THEY’RE IN THE PLAYOFFS FOR THE 2ND SEASON IN A ROW !!!
