May 23, Curtis High School Stadium
With the memory of last Saturday's loss to Yakima fresh in their mind, the Tacoma Tide were on top of their game. With possession percentages dominated by the yellow jerseys on the field, the goals didn't come. That was until the 43rd minute. Right before the end of the first half the ball was sent into the box by Tucker Maxwell and deflected on by Daniel Scott. The quickest to respond was Rory Agu for his 4th goal of the season. Ogden GK Jeff Rogers had been in top form denying Spencer Schomaker on at least 3 occasions before the Agu goal, but for that he could do nothing.

The second half brought more of the same. This time it was University of Portland product, Brayton Knapp, who latched onto a through ball and muscled one home. Knapp's goal was in the 54th minute. Two minutes later, Beau Macaluso subbed into the game. Two minutes after that, he was on the board was a goal assisted by Machael David. Macaluso's shot threatened to rip the upper V's netting.
Icing on the cake came in the 64th and 77th minute for the Tide. Agu got another goal and Tide newcomer, Daniel Fadida, nodded one home to make it 5-0. The night erased the memory of the Yakima loss and kept the Tide in the hunt for a US Open Cup berth. Ogden moves on to play Yakima tomorrow night. If Yakima ties or loses, and Tacoma defeats BYU, the Tide will qualify for the US Open Cup for the first time in their history.
