Tide Capture Point In Yakima.
Tacoma Tide 0 - 0 Yakima Reds

In the first game of the 2007 season, the Tacoma Tide earned one valuable point away from home in a goalless draw. The Yakima Reds were unable to score on Tide goalkeeper Jordan Jennings as he recorded the shutout. Organized defense allowed Jennings to do so by only tallying 4 saves. The Tide generated a few good chances on the feet of Beau Macaluso and Ciaran O’Brien, but could not convert for a notch on the scoreboard. The best chances came in the 48th minute to high school senior Beau Macaluso. Beau received a through ball and with a defender tugging from behind was not able to get a definitive touch past the charging goalkeeper.

Overall, the Tacoma FC out shot the Yakima Reds 8 to 5, and drew 8 more fouls from the Reds. Tacoma’s possession forced Yakima to commit 18 fouls total for the game to just 10 from Tacoma .

Head coach, Fran O'Brien was generally pleased with the team's performance, "I thought the 2nd half was brilliant. The team is coming together. We created some good chances, we were just a bit unlucky." Coach O'Brien added, "We are still waiting on a few players to arrive to the team so all things considered it was a good effort."
