 2008 Internship Opportunities 

Located in Tacoma, Washington, Tacoma FC is a proud member of the United Soccer League’s (USL) Player Development League (PDL) and competes in the Western Conference and Northwest Division. The USL and PDL is the largest organization of elite-level soccer in North America, consisting of top U23 men amateurs. Our teams provide development and a proving ground for elite players that aspire to reach the highest-level of the sport, while providing affordable family entertainment within our local communities.

Objective

To offer broad based educational experiences in the field of athletics to interested, qualified candidates seeking experience in a fast-paced, interactive, professional environment in order to better position him or her self for future career advancement. Tacoma FC internships are open to all eligible graduate and undergraduate college students. The number of internships available is limited. Internships will be awarded to those applicants best suited for the program based on position criteria. Tacoma FC 2008 internships are available in the following areas:

Spring & Summer Internships- Premier Development League (PDL) Operations / Administration Preferred graduate student(s) who needs practical experience/hours for graduate program. Qualified undergraduates may apply. Looking for a candidate to be fully integrated into the operations of the Tacoma FC PDL team (U-23 amateur team). Duties include but are not limited to player registration, daily administration, weekly reporting, assisting with team travel logistics, and home game event production. Reports to the Director of Operations and Manager of the PDL program. Availability- February through May (spring) and/or May through the end of July (summer) - Access to transportation means is necessary. Hours- flexible during the week for in-office hours and must be available for all home games mostly on weekends. Provides great experience in team administration, event producing, and on-site event managing. Accepting applications for the spring / summer 2007 PR internship now, submit resume by November 30, 2007.

Spring & Summer Internships- Premier Development League (PDL) Public & Community Relations, Marketing Preferred college students with an interest in the field of public relations and community involvement. Looking for highly driven applicants and those who exhibit creative thinking to represent the organization. Duties would include but are not limited to assisting the Director of Public Relations in the management and operations of community events and appearances, game day promotions, as well as in the daily communications of the club and general office administration. Preferred Availability- February to May (spring) and/or May through August (summer) - Access to transportation means is necessary. Hours- Flexible during the week for in-office-hours- some weekends required for events. This internship provides experience in understanding the Public & Community Relations of an organization, as well as an understanding event management. Accepting applications for spring 2008 PR internships now, submit resume by November 30, 2007.

Spring & Summer Internships- Premier Development League (PDL) Camp Administration Graduate or undergraduate student who has an interest in gaining experience in a professional sport setting. The internship would include a chance to experience the different facets of a professional sports organization, but mostly would focus in assisting the Director of Camps with the camp database, camp administration and management, and promoting the camp program through marketing channels. Preferred Availability- February to May (spring) and/or May through August (summer). Hours would be determined on an individual basis with some flexibility, mostly weekdays. Accepting applications for the spring 2008 Camp internship now, submit resume by November 30, 2007. Summer Internships- Premier Development League (PDL) Game Day Interns College or older high school students. Duties include assisting Tacoma FC staff with game day operations at PDL home games. Learn how to produce, manage, and administer different facets of a live sporting event. Reports to the Director of Operations. Preferred availability- May through August. Hours would be primarily evenings and weekends of home games. Submit resume by February 28, 2007.
